Programs for Dads

Lots of programs are available that are designed just for fathers. They focus on your unique experiences through a combination of peer support and guided learning. Topics include communication with your child, the traits of successful fathers, your child’s health and how to discipline. Local Fatherhood Programs

Allegheny County Family Centers fatherhood programs are designed to help fathers who have children ages birth to five learn how to improve communication and co-parenting skills, increase awareness of different parenting styles, manage stress all while building and strengthening peer support with other fathers.

 

The Office of Family and Child Health’s Fatherhood Engagement Program, through the use of Fatherhood Engagement Specialists, provides a positive outlet for fathers and help dads meet their goals and grow through their fatherhood journey by offering 24/7 Dad group sessions, home visiting, coaching calls & referrals to other services.

 

Healthy Start Male Initiative Program educates fathers and caregivers  about the importance of the health and well-being of your family through health education, parenting support, resource coordination, and case management.

 

Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) Responsible Fatherhood Program supports fathers with economic self-sufficiency, healthy development of children, and effective parenting by providing fathers with new opportunities and experiences.

 

Allegheny Family Network Fathers Involved Now focuses on the issues and concerns fathers of children with mental health and emotional concerns face by educating them on the systems and their rights to advocate for their children while offering a peer base support group to connect with.
